Let’s chat: tips on how to read more

Okay, I wanted to try something new here! Maybe “discussion” is too big of a word, but oh well. But also since I’ve never done this, I figured it would be safest to choose a topic that’s not controversial or anything. And we all struggle with reading more, so! Perfect, isn’t it.

I don’t claim to have any real answers or even that my tips would help anymore but me. But then again: who knows!! Maybe someone will find it useful!

Book inspired mix: Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

So this will probably be something you all have zero idea about but…. My all time favourite character is Harry James Potter. I will fight anyone at any time over him. HP series isn’t exactly my favourite anymore & JK is definitely not even close to an author I like but Harry??? I would die for him, thanks.

So anyway, this means I have actually more than one mix made for him. And I figured, since I already decided it will be cool to post mixes on this blog, what’s better than to post one made for Harry, right? It’s a little bit old already but it’s not like we got any new canon material after The Deadly Hallows (we did not, don’t talk to me about that “eight book”) so it’s not like it doesn’t fit. Let’s do this then!

Oh, it’s for Harry after the war, just in case that wasn’t clear by the song choices!

Cover Reveal: A Light Amongst Shadows by Kelley York

Look at me grow as a blogger! Do new & exciting stuff!! Because I mean, what’s more exciting than sharing a cover of a great upcoming release, right?? And trust me, A Light Amongst Shadows by Kelley York IS great!

Okay, so first, to make you properly excited about this, a blurb of this beautiful historical gay paranormal novel:

James Spencer is hardly the typical troubled youth who ends up at Whisperwood School for Boys. Instead of hating the strict schedules and tight oversight by staff, James blossoms, quickly making friends, indulging in his love of writing, and contemplating the merits of sneaking love poems to the elusive and aloof William Esher.

The rumours about William’s sexuality and opium reliance are prime gossip material amongst the third years…rumours that only further pique James’ curiosity to uncover what William is really like beneath all that emotional armor. And, when the normally collected William stumbles in one night, shaken and ranting of ghosts, James is the only one who believes him.

James himself has heard the nails dragging down his bedroom door and the sobs echoing in the halls at night. He knows others have, too, even if no one will admit it. The staff refuses to entertain such ridiculous tales, and punishment awaits anyone who brings it up.

Their fervent denial and the disappearance of students only furthers James’ determination to find out what secrets Whisperwood is hiding…especially if it prevents William and himself from becoming the next victims.

Are you into it yet?? Okay, great!!! Because the cover is honestly so perfect for this story, keeping the aesthetic to the letter.

A peach of my eye: Melina Marchetta

Me? Starting yet another series of posts? Unheard of!! Well maybe at least in this case I will finally be more successful… Tbh though it’s not my fault thinking of what kinds of things you wanna post is more entertaining & easier than actually writing them down. But let’s get to the point.

A peach? Sure, my favourite fruit but in this case it also means: my favourite author. Hopefully I’ll introduce you in upcoming months to lots of them, but I started this blog with a review of one of Marchetta’s books & I will start this series with her as well. (Can you tell I adore her?)
