This is a very fun book, largely due to Ollie (the protagonist) who’s simply, in the very wise words of Will, ridiculous. I want to make some things clear, though, before we proceed: this is also a messy book. It’s messy in a way that none of the characters are perfect, and they keep making mistakes, and no one is really 100% in the right. It’s messy in a way that life (especially life of a teenager) is messy and totally not black-and-white. I just know not everyone enjoys stories like that.

Blog Tour: With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Acevedo

I hope you guys are just as excited as I am! This was my first time participating in a blog tour with actual physical arcs involved. 😮 Any of you who are international bloggers as well, know how hard those magical objects are to come by for us…

Anyway! The blog tour is hosted by Karina @ Afire Pages who’s been an absolute gem. And a big Thank You to HarperCollins International for making this all possible! There are two (!) giveaways happening during this blog tour, as well, so you definitely wanna read the whole post, to get to the info about those!

So you’re in the mood for books with lesbian protagonists

I’m a lesbian, I’m in Paris, this is a perfect opportunity for me to talk about books that have lesbian protagonists! Nah, I’m joking, every day is a good opportunity for that…

I mean, as someone who co-runs a blog specifically dedicated to LGBT media… Did y’all expect anything else from me? But yeah, check out Reads Rainbow, if you still haven’t! Charlotte just posted a rec list of novellas!

Today’s list is seven books long again. I was trying to decide which books to rec and which to leave out & then I realised: this is my blog! those are lesbians! Of course I should rec every single one I want to.

Hopefully everyone will find something for themself here, since we have contemporary, fantasy, science-fiction… Even one new adult book! Don’t tell me I’m not great at rec lists.

Waiting for: February 2019

I’m in Paris (!!!) but that’s no reason for me not to talk about all the amazing books coming out next month! I mean, you can pre-order them no matter where I am…

Some of those titles I already mentioned in my post about January-June 2019 diverse releases, but there is going to be so many more here!! This time I don’t have to choose just two books, to make a list at least a little bit managable…

And keep in mind, not everything I’m excited about is going to be featured on this list – some of those books I talk about over at Reads Rainbow! So check out my February releases list there as well for more LGBT content!!

And now, February books that I’m most excited about! 🍑🍑🍑

Diverse Reads & To Be Reads of the Week #19

Okay, yes, I haven’t written one of those posts in a while because I actually haven’t read much this year yet. The first week was great – actually, maybe even less than a week… And then I kind of went into another reading slump. New year, new me? Not in this house apparently.

So yeah, I’m gonna list all the gay shit I’ve read this year so far, not just this past week. There is not going to be a lot going on in this list, guys… But! On the plus side! (Well, a plus side for me personally, at least.) There are going to be two (2) Polish books!

I should mention, I suppose, that I’ve been digging into polish history and trying to find gay authors from my own country. It’s a slow process but I did find some good stuff already and even managed to buy a few for myself! It’s especially cool to me because those are all books and authors from the last century!

Anyway, I will one day make a post about this, either here or on Reads Rainbow, but for now, let’s focus on what I read recently.
